Blaise Primary School, Bristol
At Blaise we are documenting a whole year of learning along a main corridor. I have been asked to visit the school towards the end of each term to meet with pupils from each class and find out what they have been learning about. Then I go away and work on a design that brings together all the things we talk about and the same children come out over two days to paint the next part of the design.
So far we have done History in term 1- 'Learning from the past to affect our future' with images including the moon landing, the Vikings, the Egyptians, Henry VIII, The SS Great Britain, Nelson Mandela, World War II, The Clifton Suspension Bridge, different toys from the past and a Tudor house!

Term 2's focus was Religion, 'The Right to be yourself' and we've brought together images and symbols that the children shared including- the Sikh emblem - the Khanda, the Star of David from Judaism, the Christian Cross, the Star and Crescent from Islam and the Om symbol from Hinduism.
Its great to talk with pupils each term and hear about what they've been doing, the trips they've been on and the work they've done. They are always full of ideas for the mural and can't wait to help paint, there is always a suggestion for things to be added as they walk past or excitement that they've found something new.
